Why Brazil?

Almost 200 million inhabitants
Ranks fifth worldwide by:
Population,

Social Network Access
The world’s sixth largest economy

This vast market offers outstanding business opportunities, thanks to the rapid growth of its economy over the past few years, keeping pace with international trade and underpinned by investments, as well as the potential offered by its vast natural resources. The travel and tourism industry is certainly among the sectors that are most interested in this context, with major international events planned for the next few years - particularly the 2014 Soccer World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics - providing outstanding contributions to the economic growth of Brazil. Although a number of Brazilian travelers visiting the rest of the world (estimated at 7,5 million in 2011) still ranks fairly low in global terms, expenditures on travel during the past few years have risen exponentially (+32 % in 2011) thanks to the steady rise in the value of the Brazilian Real against the Euro and the US Dollar, ranking Brazilian travelers tenth among the world`s 'big spenders'. The luxury travel segment encompasses rising numbers of Brazilian millionaires (currently estimated at 155,000), but is underpinned mainly by the steady expansion of the middle class, eager to consume and enhance their lifestyles. To an increasing extent this is an interesting reality with an excellent outlook over the next ten years for the travel and hospitality sectors. For an efficient market penetration strategy, it is important to recall that Portuguese is the fifth most widely used language on the internet, and Brazil has more than 80 million users, spending the most amount of time on-line, in addition to a strong presence (ranked fifth worldwide) in all major social networks.
